Core Stability Rehabilitation
Core stability is not just about getting your stomach stronger it is about getting the timing of your core activating at the right time and improving the strength endurance of your core through specific exercises into functional activities. There are 2 main approaches, one based around pilates and one around the work of McGill. Both have a place in rehabilitation depending on need.
Your core can become weaker or ‘out of timing’ due to pain, following surgery, following pregnancy or due to muscular imbalances caused by overactivity or repetition of an activity. Most, if not all professional sporting individuals or teams now have core stability training as part of their overall training. The reason is simple it keeps them free of injury for as long as possible. We tailor our rehabilitation to your specific need.
